Lethal Weapons of Love and Passion - Reunion...Farewell

Tsun Mung Yiu woke up and turned to stare at her husband, Fung Hang Lit who was by her side, still asleep. Although still very handsome, past emotional and physical suffering etched a few wrinkles on his face and turned a few strands of his hair grey despite him being only 29 years old. Fung Hang Lit's body was also ravaged by scars. The scars left by her and Hon Pak were the most prominent. Furthermore, Fung Hang Lit fell ill and his condition has worsened. The doctor warned that his days are now limited. Mung Yiu promised Hang Lit that she will always be there to take care of him and assured him that no matter how sick he may become, he will not be a burden to her.
Mung Yiu wrote a letter to Fan Leung Gik and Hon Pak asking them to come and visit. Everyday since then, she hoped to hear the they had arrived. That morning, she went out to the village entrance to see if they have arrived. She waited for 2 hours, sighed, and then turned around to head back to her ger (Mongolian dwelling). She took two strides and then heard galloping horses. "Could it be them?" wondered Mung Yiu. She stopped to look back. The horses stopped. "Mung Yiu!" shouted the riders. It was Fan Leung Gik and Wan Ching. They climbed down their horses and walked towards Mung Yiu. "Hon Pak got delayed but he and Yeh Yuet should arrive in a couple of days," said Fan Leung Gik. "How are you holding up?" asked Wan Ching. "For you to send us an urgent letter, Fung Hang Lit's condition must be really serious."
Mung Yiu started to break down and cry. "The doctor told me to prepare for the worse. I'm really scared but I have be strong for both of us. If he dies, I don't know how I can go on. I don't understand...he's been through so much and survived. How come he's losing this battle?"
Fan Leung Gik sighed and said, "I guess no matter how smart or how powerful you are, when your time is up, your time is up. Some things are beyond our control." Wan Ching hugged Mung Yiu to comfort her. After a few minutes, Mung Yiu stopped crying.
"WAHHH!"
"Aiya! My little princess is awake," said Fan Leung Gik. He had his daughter secured on his back during the trip. Wan Ching took the baby from him to cuddle her. The baby stopped crying.
"Your daughter is very cute!" said Mung Yiu. "If I have a daughter, I hope she is just as cute."
"Does that mean you're...?" asked Fan Leung Gik asked.
Mung Yiu nodded.
"Congratulations!" exclaimed Wan Ching. "I'm sure boy or girl, your child will have both beauty and brains. Have you told Fung Hang Lit yet?"
"No," replied Mung Yiu. "I was planning on surprising him with his friends visiting and then telling him the news."
They all arrived at Fung's ger. Mung Yiu went to the sleeping quarters and found her husband awake and just slipping paper into an envelope. "Dai Han, I have a surprise for you."
"Oh?" wondered Fung Hang Lit.
The guests followed Mung Yiu into the room.
"Fan! Wan Ching! What a nice surprise!" said Fung Hang Lit.
Both Fan Leng Gik and Wan Ching were shocked. It was not too long ago that Fung Hang Lit challenged Yin Wong for China's throne and exhibited very impressive martial arts. Now the Fung Hang Lit in front of them looked very pale and fragile. Even speaking took a lot of effort.
Seeing the reaction on their faces, Fung Hang Lit said "I haven't been feeling well. But it's not as bad as it looks."
Fan Leung Gik changed topic and stepped closer to Fung Hang Lit. "It's been a while since we last saw each other. As you can see, Wan Ching and I got married and have a daughter. Don't let her cute looks and small size fool you, she has us eating from the palm of her hand. Hon Pak and Yeh Yuet should be here in a couple of days. They miss you very much. They just had a boy. They insist that you and Mung Yiu be his godparents."
"I'm glad all of you are very happy. I can't wait to see Ah Pak and Yeh Yuet," said Fung Hang Lit.
"And that's not all. Mung Yiu has something to tell you," said Fan Leung Gik.
"What is it Mung Yiu?" asked Fung Hang Lit.
"You are going to be a father," replied Mung Yiu.
"Really?" asked Fung Hang Lit. "Then you need to get someone to take care of you. From now on you have to take it easy. I can't let anything happen to you and the baby."
"See how good Fung Hang Lit is to Mung Yiu," exclaimed Wan Ching. You have a long way to go Fan Leung Gik."
Everybody laughed.
That night, Mung Yiu went to check on her husband. To her horror, he was feverish and was perspiring cold sweat. Mung Yiu quickly tended to him. It took a while but the discomfort lessened. However, the fever did not go away. Mung Yiu was exhausted. She got into bed, made sure Fung was asleep and then fell asleep herself.
The next day, Fung Hang Lit seemed much better. He asked Mung Yiu for some grass and paper. He made a couple of birds and started writing on the paper.
"What are you writing?" asked Mung Yiu.
"Instructions on how to make the bird," replied Fung Hang Lit. "Our child has to know how to make grass birds for his mother."
"Have you thought of a name?" asked Mung Yiu.
"'Han' if it's a boy. 'Mong' if it's a girl." replied Fung Hang Lit.
"Those are good names!" exclaimed Mung Yiu.
Fung Hang Lit tried to make another bird when all of a sudden he started having a seizure.
"Fung!" screamed Mung Yiu. "Somebody help!"
Luckily, Fan Leung Gik and Wan Ching were already at the door so they rushed in to help. All three tried to hold Fung Hang Lit down. Finally the seizure stopped. Fung Hang Lit looked at them, tears running down his face, and said, "I...can't...fight...it...anymore. I'm...really...tired."
"Fung, don't give up," pleaded Mung Yiu. "Hon Pak still has not seen you yet. You two have a lot of catching up to do."
She helped him sit up on the bed and sat beside him, holding his hand.
"Mung Yiu...I...wrote...letters. Please... give...them...out. They...are...not...to...be...opened...until...after...I'm...gone."
"Fung Dai Gaw!" a voice shouted and someone rushed in. "Fung Dai Gaw!" It was Hon Pak with Yeh Yuet following behind.
Fung Hang Lit looked at Hon Pak and smiled. Then he closed his eyes. They did not open ever again.
